Florida "Fall" Fun

Last weekend was a chance for the Kuykendall family to engage in some fun fall activities. First, our community hosted a Halloween party at the clubhouse, and then we had the chance to visit a real Florida farm with a fake pumpkin patch. Lots of fun in the great 80 degree weather. As always, Lolo was a trooper the whole time.

The Halloween party was fun because we got to put Harlow in her costume for the first time.

Lolo the Ladybug

They had a bounce house for really little kids, so mommy got in and played with Harow

Then it got hot so Harlow got to take off her costume and try to eat the bounce house...

I guess it's better than eating the floor or a shoe..not that she tries to do either of those things every day.

We went to a pumpkin patch at a local farm on Sunday, which apparently is also known as "Everybody in south Florida go to the Pumpkin Patch" day...I think there were a billion cars there. These pictures don't do any justice...

We got some good pictures of Harlow with some pumpkins...

What's a good pumpkin patch without an alligator?

Dat a good un...

Here are some 10 month pics

We also have a YouTube channel where there are some fun videos of Harlow laughing, walking with her walker, etc. Here is the link:

No new pictures

Just wanted to say sorry that I haven't been keeping up the blog as well lately. I really need to get Dax to help me out more with this. Harlow is sick (again) and so that pretty much consumes my days. Poor baby has to get on another plane tomorrow and participate in a full weekend of festivities. She will have a blast though, so it will all be worth it. In case you were wondering, it takes approximately 2 hours to update the blog...even though it only take a few minutes to read it! I have to upload the pictures from 1 or 2 cameras depending on which ones were used. Then, I have to pick them out from tiny icons 4 at a time and repeat that process until I have all the pictures I want. Then, I have to type something about all the pictures. Lastly, I have to edit what I created. So, it does take quite a bit of time. Usually, I do it late at night after our angel is sleeping, but lately I have been working a lot more. I know that a lot of you are loyal to our blog and look forward to getting your weekly dose of Harlow, so I will really try to do better and shoot for one post a week! With Dax's help! Until next time...

A trip to Nebraska in pictures

Well, at least mostly. I can't keep my big mouth shut the whole time. But here ya go!

Part One-Sarah and Max
It was a beautiful day, cool enough to need a jacket (yay) so we bundled up our kiddos and headed to the park. What a great day!

Leaves? What are these strange crackling things?

Maxy kissing baby #2!

Part 2-D-Town
We got to see almost all of Harlow's aunts, uncles, cousins and friends of our family. It was so much fun! Many of her family members have never met her so it was really neat to spend some time with everyone. Mom and Dad had everyone out to their acreage for dinner before the Husker's played later that night. The first set of pictures were on the first night, the second set on the night of the dinner. We brought the walker with us since this child will not hold still under any circumstances.

Uncle Kris
Harlow just stared at Kris a lot, it was so funny!
My brothers;-)
You can't ever get her to smile, but when you do, boy is it a pretty one!
Aunt Tomi

Grandpa giving rides
My aunt Terry and cousin Shelby
After about 15 tries, this one isn't so bad!
Love this kid. Seriously, look at that expression.

Grandma's tutu for Harlow. This is the closest thing to a cheer leading "outfit" she'll ever own.
Notice how she wouldn't put her arms down.

Time for a bath with sissy-cousins

9 month jammers that are too short, yikes!

Part 3-Pumpkin Patch
If you read our blog, you know how excited I was to take Harlow to a real live pumpkin patch. This place had it all, zip lines, pony rides, petting zoo, face painting, slides, corn shooter canon, corn maze and oh yeah, you got to pick out your own pumpkin....from the ground. Harlow picked out her pumpkin and we took it home with us!

Trying to get a nice picture of 4 kids in the glaring sun=impossible
Let Piper hold her
No, Eden wants to hold her
Oh cripes, put Harlow in between them

Big girls get to swing!

Harlow's turn!

Grandpa thought it was so fun to give her water from the bottle. Notice the outfit change below;-)

Part 4-Back to Omaha
We spent some more time downtown Omaha eating at one of my dad's favorite restaurants, Spaghetti Works, and walking around Central Park. When I was a little kid, my parents took me and my brothers to these same slides to wear us out on the weekends. And as Eden pointed out, "you go faster if you get a piece of trash to sit on" (she would be referring to wax paper). The funniest part is, the trees surrounding this area were so tall. After talking to dad about it, we reflected that about 25 years had past since we last came here, so it made sense that the trees were much taller and fuller. We also hit the zoo on our last day. Sadly, it was so hot, and we actually were sweating. I was pretty annoyed that the weather took a turn upwards but we still had a great time walking the zoo. Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo is one of the best zoo's in the county....and it's cheaper than admission to the Palm Beach Zoo!

Practicing waving "hello" and "goodbye"

Making cupcakes with Eden our last morning. Eden picked out all the ingredients at the store and we had a great time baking them!

As you can see, we had a great trip. Harlow did "okay" on the flight but I will not be taking her anywhere by myself again until she is much older. Thankfully, I only had to share the row with one person out of 4 flights, the rest we had to ourselves. That is the beauty of flying into Omaha, Nebraska. Next stop? Austin in 2 weeks. By the time Harlow is one year old, she will have flown on 6 trips back home! That is a lot for a baby.
